About iBlackout
iBlackout brings the beloved game of dice, chance, and odds that has been challenging players since the 12th centurey into the 21st century as an entertaining app for the iPhone and iPod touch. iBlackout is a modernized variation of the game Shut the Box (also known as Canoga, Klakers, and Hatches), replacing the number box with a rattling of the phone and hinged tiles with a simple touch of the screen.
The game challenges the player to eliminate every one of the tiles, numbered 1 through 9, with a pair of dice. Roll the dice, add the values, and try and use the tiles to equal the sum. The used tiles disappear, leaving you fewer combinations of numbers to work with to equal the sum of the dice. Once you are no longer able to match the dice your turn is over.
Start from 45 points and count down, subtracting the value of the dice your are able to match with the tiles. The lower the score the better. Play with up to six players and try and get the closest to zero or play by yourself and try to eliminate all the tiles and reach zero, blacking out.
